IEEAF seeks to provide and stimulate real benefits for educational institutions and their communities of higher learning.
With the Internet's rich successes, many of which were stimulated by
the need and interests of the academic community as well as by its
technical skills and planning, the IEEAF membership now stands ready to
promote what could be, essentially "universal educational access".
The US regulatory climate achieved "universal service" for voice and
the combination of technologies and competition, globally, now offer
the promise of such universality for the Internet and at much higher
bandwidth rates and for a much richer combination of learning media and
pedagogies.
